Ryan and Sarah Smith
Ryan and Sarah have been married for 21 years have been serving in ministry for almost the same amount of time. Their desire has always been to serve side-by-side as ministers wherever they live. They have served a total of three churches together in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Indiana. Their roles and titles have changed over the years, but their desire to share Jesus and make him approachable and relevant has always been present,
They believe that over their past 20+ years, God has been preparing them for this new adventure in planting a church. As they look back on their past experiences, growth, theology, and relationships, they recognize that God has prepared them and grown in them a heart and love for those who are seeking a spiritual connection to God but have left the formal church. They believe deeply that God is earnestly seeking after his children that have left Him and that He wants to use Ryan and Sarah to accomplish this mission.
Sid and Deb Bridges
Sid and Deb live in Peterborough, UK, with their seven children.
Both of them are trained in youth and community work, and previously worked for churches/para church organisations as youth workers. Sid went on to train as a vicar in the Church of England while Deb focussed on family life with their children.
Deb and Sid began to partner with Common Thread in 2020 after Sid left his role in the Church of England. They set up a not-for-profit company in the UK called Prodigal Collective which delivers ceremonies, offers support to the bereaved and seeks to connect with the local community through coaching in schools, supporting individuals and through growing ‘church.’
They are very curious about church and passionate about creating a safe, secure space where concepts of who the Divine might be can be explored alongside the realities of being human, which they believe could result in a life giving community of welcome, belonging, service, generosity, growth and connection.
